Job Summary:
Briarwood Nursing and Rehab is seeking an experienced Dietary Manager to join our team! As a Dietary Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the operation of Dietary Services, working closely with our Registered Dietician to provide quality nutritional care. Your expertise in food safety, menu implementation, foodservice purchasing, and food preparation will be crucial in ensuring our residents receive exceptional care. Responsibilities:
Supervises the operation of Dietary Services, ensuring food safety and quality
Implements menus, foodservice purchasing, and food preparation
Applies nutrition principles and documents nutrition information
Manages work teams, provides training, direction, and guidance
Participates in hiring, disciplining, and evaluation of dietary employees
Schedules and supervises cleaning and maintenance of equipment
Ensures adequate stock of food, maintains inventory, and monitors supply usage
Prepares work schedules and maintains adequate staffing
Participates in predicting, planning, monitoring, and evaluating of cost programs
Completes dietary documentation, patient histories, and food preferences
Works closely with Nursing staff to ensure proper dietary needs are recorded, addressed, and delivered
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Three years of experience in Dietary operations, one of which was in a long-term care environment
Skilled in directing and motivating the workforce
Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization
Knowledge of infection control techniques and commercial food service equipment operation
