Managing Partner-Track CPA

Our established CPA firm in Brookings, South Dakota, is seeking a highly skilled Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our team with the clear goal of becoming a managing partner. We are looking for a professional with deep expertise in both personal and business tax returns and advisory. This role is ideal for someone with experience in or a strong desire to manage a firm and lead a team.

The Opportunity:

You will join a firm that currently includes two CPAs, two CPA associates, a senior bookkeeper/tax preparer, and an administrative assistant. One of our current partners is planning to retire within the next 12-24 months, creating a direct pathway for you to assume the role of Managing Partner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and provide expert advice on personal and business tax returns.

• Manage client relationships and provide high-level financial guidance.

• Lead and mentor a team of associates and support staff.

• Oversee day-to-day firm operations and contribute to long-term strategic growth.

Work & Compensation:

• This is a full-time, in-person position, requiring at least four days a week in our Brookings office. One day of remote work is negotiable, with the potential for additional flexibility after you are well established in the role.

• Compensation is competitive and negotiable based on experience.

• After a six-month probationary period, you will receive a grant of company ownership.

• You will also have the option to purchase additional equity in the firm to increase your ownership stake.
