A premier multi-billion-dollar mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Startup & Commissioning Manager to lead the startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities for a landmark hyperscale data center project in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

As Startup & Commissioning Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in bringing this mission-critical facility online, ensuring every mechanical system performs to the highest standards before owner turnover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities for the mechanical scope of a hyperscale data center.
- Develop and execute commissioning plans, schedules, procedures, and turnover documentation.
- Coordinate with owners, commissioning agents, design engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and construction teams.
- Manage functional performance testing of HVAC, chilled water, cooling systems, plumbing, piping, and mission-critical infrastructure.
- Oversee equipment startup activities and verify system readiness.
- Track commissioning progress and ensure milestone completion in accordance with project schedules.
- Identify and resolve commissioning issues while minimizing impacts to project completion.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, deficiency tracking, and turnover packages.
- Support client acceptance testing and final facility turnover.
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in mechanical construction, commissioning, startup, operations, or mission-critical environments.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, mechanical piping, plumbing systems, and critical infrastructure.
- Experience leading startup and commissioning activities on large commercial, industrial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or data center projects.
- Ability to interpret construction documents, specifications, sequences of operation, and control strategies.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Previous hyperscale data center commissioning experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with integrated systems testing (IST), functional performance testing (FPT), and owner turnover processes is a significant advantage.
