This role ensures the company's fleet and equipment remain safe, reliable, and well-maintained, while also managing inventory, parts procurement, and vendor relationships. The Logistics & Equipment Manager leads a team of CDL drivers, mechanics, and yard staff, providing direction, training, and accountability. By coordinating equipment usage, scheduling maintenance, and managing logistical support for projects, this position plays a critical role in keeping field operations productive, efficient, and on schedule.Benefits:Company Paid Medical Insurance for full-time employees.Dental/Vision/Life Insurance available after one month.401(k) with competitive company match.Paid Holidays available upon hire.Paid Vacation accruals upon hire.Strong Family Culture – Family-Owned Business.Growth Opportunities – Promotions from within.Job Duties:Fleet & Equipment ManagementOversee maintenance, repairs, and preventative service for all heavy equipment, semi-trucks, trailers, and company vehicles.Perform and/or coordinate mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, and diagnostics for gas and diesel engines.Maintain accurate records of equipment service, inspections, and repairs.Schedule and monitor preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and stay within budget.Track and oversee logistics of all company vehicles and equipment, including location, utilization, and condition.Assist in evaluating, purchasing, and commissioning new equipment and vehicles.Manage Equipment360: enter new equipment, track services, clean up records, and manage repair workflows.Oversee vehicle licensing, insurance renewals, permits, and compliance with IFTA, UCR, and IRP regulations.Shop, Yard & Parts OversightMaintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and yard environment.Order and stock shop supplies, lubricants, and consumables to support ongoing operations.Research, order, and pick up required parts and tools for projects and repairs.Manage inventory of parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring accurate tracking and timely returns.Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.Receive and inspect incoming shipments, update inventory systems accordingly.Oversee building and yard maintenance, including housekeeping, lighting, and equipment staging areas.Ensure all returned equipment is cleaned, inspected, and serviced before redeployment.Vendor & Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and availability of critical parts and supplies.Source specialty tools, equipment, and rental units as needed for ongoing projects.Outsource specialized repairs when necessary and oversee quality and cost effectiveness.Team Leadership & OversightLead, train, and evaluate mechanics, CDL drivers, and yard personnel.Review and approve timecards and ensure accurate labor reporting using HeavyJob.Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to develop team performance and morale.Enforce all company and OSHA safety standards, fostering a culture of safety-first practices.Coordinate driver utilization, scheduling, and route planning to maximize efficiency.Ensure compliance with all trucking regulations, haul routes, and permit requirements.Project Logistics & SupportCoordinate delivery of equipment, materials, and supplies to and from job sites.Support superintendents by ensuring equipment is available, properly equipped, and job-ready.Manage and dispatch mobile mechanics based on repair priorities and project needs.Coordinate equipment moves per the project schedule and adjust as needed for rain days or shutdowns.Prep equipment for new projects (e.g., correct buckets, saw trailers, attachments).Track locations of all equipment and attachments using ROMA Tracking.Pick up, deliver, or source items for field teams as needed.Source and coordinate rental equipment delivery and returns.Ensure internal drivers are utilized first before external haulers.Technology & SystemsUtilize and maintain digital platforms such as Equipment360, Alldata, ROMA Tracking, CATET, FluidSource, and HeavyJob.Ensure accurate and timely entry of service data, repair logs, and fleet records.Leverage reporting tools to analyze utilization, downtime, and cost trends.Job Qualifications3 years of mechanical and equipment maintenance experience in the construction industry (preferred).Strong background in troubleshooting and repairing gas and diesel engines; welding experience a plus.Technical training in engine maintenance or equivalent on-the-job experience.Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Valid driver's license; CDL preferred. Must be capable of pulling trailers.Proficiency in equipment tracking and inventory systems; comfortable with basic computer applications.Physically capable of lifting up to 80 lbs; able to operate forklifts and/or skid steers.Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.Personal AttributesLeadership-Oriented: Effectively manages and motivates mechanics, CDL drivers, and yard staff.Organized & Detail-Oriented: Keeps accurate records and manages complex scheduling and inventory.Problem Solver: Diagnoses mechanical or logistical issues quickly and implements practical solutions.Dependable & Safety-Minded: Always upholds safety and maintenance standards.Collaborative: Works closely with ownership, project managers, and field teams to support operations.Professional & Positive: Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and a strong work ethic.Hands-On & Proactive: Willing to assist directly with repairs, deliveries, and field support as needed.

Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
