Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and refining existing recipes to enhance flavor and presentation.
- Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to safety regulations, including proper storage, sanitation, and cross-contamination prevention.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, stoves, and other culinary tools.
- Support food service operations by plating dishes attractively and timely for service staff or direct guest presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations throughout shifts, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals while upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Experience
- Previous kitchen experience in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated culinary experience with a focus on food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety.
- Experience working in fine dining settings or with menu planning is a strong plus.
- Skilled in knife techniques and meal preparation methods that ensure efficiency and precision.
- Background in the food industry with exposure to diverse cuisines or catering services is advantageous.
- Familiarity with dietary department standards or dietary aide experience can be beneficial but is not required.
