Job Summary
The Executive Assistant provides administrative support to full-time pastors and assists the full-time pastors with the church’s administrative responsibilities, sometimes serving as the first point of contact for the church’s pastoral offices.
Duties
- Providing administrative support to full-time Brentwood pastors
- Overseeing and scheduling office and admin adjacent volunteers
- Updating church databases and records
- Managing church organizational tools
- Managing office phone system
- Assisting the full-time pastors with office communication (e.g., phone, text, email, etc.)
- Direct all phone and email correspondence to appropriate parties
- First response/point-person for email inquiries related to activities and programs at Brentwood
- First response/point-person for phone and text inquiries related to activities and programs at Brentwood
- Supporting the administrative functions of the church by maintaining an inventory of needed supplies; utilizing the appropriate process to pay for goods or services purchased by the church; making sure all supplies are stocked and in place; training office volunteers to be able to manage supplies and prepare orders as necessary
- Managing communication and calendars; point-person for non-pastoral engagement
- Coordinating volunteers as related to necessary church ministries
- Scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel
- General office duties (e.g., filing, managing phone system, email, general correspondence, etc.)
- Preparing and proofreading correspondence, reports, and other documents as requested
- Helping organize and plan church events and develop accompanying publicity materials
- Helping create brochures, letters, forms, mailings, signage and newsletters, maintaining and updating the church’s websites, keeping all publicity on physical and digital platforms clean and current
- Attending professional development courses, software training classes, and/or training sessions as directed by the full-time pastors or required by the church
- Supporting the ministries of the church by performing other related duties as necessary
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or the equivalent and two years of general office experience or an equivalent combination of education and general office experience is required.
- Good keyboarding skills are required. A working knowledge of word processing, bookkeeping, and spreadsheet applications is required. A working knowledge of (or the ability to learn and use) church database applications and website management systems, and other systems or applications that may be used within the church is required. Ability to operate basic office equipment is required. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Must be able to work well with others and represent the general values and ethos associated with Brentwood Christian Church.
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 9am-3pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 per week
