What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Preschool and Kid’s Minister - Woodbine position at Brentwood Baptist Church and Careers?
SUMMARY
The Woodbine Campus Preschool and Kid’s Minister is responsible to the church, under the direction of the Campus and Teaching Pastor, for overseeing planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive ministry for preschoolers and children, ages Birth through Fifth Grade. The role is designed to fit within the overall church vision for spiritual formation of our preschoolers and kids that is biblical, comprehensive, and consistent with an approach to equip parents to be the primary disciple-makers of their children.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with the Campus and Teaching Pastor to develop a comprehensive plan for ministry to preschoolers & kids that partners with parents, emphasizing their responsibility as the primary disciple-makers of their children.
- Consistently identify new Preschool/Kids leaders, equipping them to be prepared weekly for their responsibilities serving preschoolers and children.
- Oversee and coordinate Preschool/Kids leaders for Sunday morning ministries, worship care, and special events. Meet periodically as needed with volunteers to implement any new procedures or organization needs.
- Evaluate, with the assistance of the Campus and Teaching pastor, age-appropriate curriculum to use in all age graded classes and activities.
- Plan and conduct leadership training for teachers and volunteers and specific training for newly recruited leadership.
- Provide leadership to weekly teachers, which includes weekly communication and ongoing equipping, and any paid childcare workers.
- Consistently identify, recruit, and equip new leaders to serve preschoolers and children. Utilize the Discover and PLACE class participants as potential volunteers.
- Oversee and give leadership to the Preschool & Kid’s discipleship on Sunday mornings.
- Coordinate and provide leadership for a culture that emphasizes our “Disciples Multiplying Disciples” strategy among children and their peers.
- Work with the Next Gen Team Lead and Preschool and Kids Point Leaders to ensure ministry policies, procedures, and best practices are implemented.
- Ensure that all workers (paid and volunteer) and parents understand and adhere to the policies and procedures (i.e. Ministry Safe, Best Practices, Trainings, etc.).
- Provide consistent development and accountability for the Preschool & Kid’s Ministry budget.
- Provide consistent oversight for parents and volunteers as they go through the Ministry Safe procedure.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
- Be available for Gospel Conversations and Care with children and parents when needs arise (mainly answering any questions as it relates to salvation, baptism, church membership and any matters of personal or family concern).
- Oversee an intentional parent child dedication experience and 1st Grade Bible Presentation.
- Participate in planning and give direction to events such as, leadership training and VBS.
- Be available for conducting baptisms for children and families when needed.
- Quarterly identify possible teens and older children who desire to use their gifts in various aspects of preschool and children’s ministry.
- Attend all required staff meetings and complete forms and reports in a timely and concise manner.
- Attend and participate in all quarterly staff meetings (if possible).
- Have flexibility to accept and execute other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A personal sense of calling from God to vocational Christian ministry in general and to this area of ministry.
- Can identify closely with the mission, values, vision, theology, philosophy and methodology of Brentwood Baptist Church.
- A mature Christian who is demonstrates the Fruit of the Spirit, is growing in their faith and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer.
- The proven ability to identify, equip and lead a team of volunteers.
- Ability to collaborate, cooperate and function well in a team environment.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience is required working in the local church or Christian ministry context, specifically ministering, or serving in a volunteer leadership role with preschool and/or children.
