The Clinical Director will oversee the activities of the clinical team. The Clinical Director will assess and evaluate the delivery of the treatment plan and care to clients in the program, ensuring that the services provided match up with company policies and procedures, standard operating procedures, philosophy, objective, and mission statement. The Clinical Director will work Mon-Fri, from approximately 8am-5pm. The company provides residential and outpatient services for adolescents struggling with mental health and substance use issues.

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and management in the clinical area in order to serve as a role model for staff and clients.
  • Maintain healthy, therapeutic relationships and rapport with staff and clients.
  • Conduct weekly case conferences with therapists, case management team, and interns for supervision and consultation.
  • Coordinate the assignment, reassignment, and termination of cases.
  • Assure that the quality of clinical services is maintained through individual and group supervision.
  • Involved with the hiring/discipline/termination process of the clinical team.
  • Supervise and monitor the work performance and conduct performance evaluations annually for the individual clinicians in the case management team. Work with each team member to establish specific, individual professional development goals as appropriate.
  • Provide consultation and support to staff as needed including being available for staff to debrief about difficult situations.
  • Review all incident reports. Consider actions to be taken and implement changes to avoid similar incidents in the future.
  • Facilitates coordination of care to include case review, therapeutic interventions, and client progress in treatment. Chart audits.
  • Review client pre-assessments.
  • In charge of the weekly programming schedule for clients.

Job Specifications

  • Participate in the establishment or revision of policies, procedures, guidelines, goals and objectives.
  • Maintain an understanding of state and federal regulations and facility licensing requirements.
  • Understand the client, program development, and client relationships.
  • Recognize and respond to a fire, disaster, hazard, and medical emergency.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be required by the company from time to time.
  • Monitor case load to ensure required documentation is completed timely; including, but not limited to, assessments, treatment plans, case reviews and discharge plans.
  • Protect client rights in R9-10-1008.
  • Provide treatment that promotes client dignity, independence, individuality, strengths, privacy, and choice.
  • Recognize obvious symptoms of a mental disorder, personality disorder, or substance abuse.
  • Provide the behavioral health services that the agency is authorized to provide and that the staff member is qualified to provide.
  • Meet the unique needs of the client populations served by the agency or the staff member, such as adolescents and possible co-occurring disorders.
  • Recognize and respect cultural differences.
  • Recognize, prevent, and respond to a situation in which a client:
  • May be a danger to self or a danger to others,
  • Behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner,
  • May be experiencing a crisis, or
  • May be experiencing a medical emergency.
  • Demonstrate ethical behavior, such as by respecting staff member and client boundaries and recognizing the inappropriateness of receiving gratuities from a client.
  • Identify types of medications commonly prescribed for mental disorders, personality disorders, and substance abuse and the common side effects and adverse reactions of the medications.

Minimum Qualification

  • At least 3 years working with clients in a supervisory role within a residential, outpatient mental health or private practice setting.
  • At least 2 years of behavioral health experience preferred.
  • Preferred previous experience with adolescents.
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field.
  • Enhanced Clearance with Idaho Health and Welfare preferred (will be required to obtain).
  • Current behavioral health license in Idaho.
  • Independently licensed in the state of Idaho.
  • Approved Supervisor by the Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL).
