Maintenance Team Coordinator

Job Description:
 

The Maintenance Team Coordinator is a full-time regular hire management position that is accountable for day to day operation and maintenance of Breitenbush facilities. These include but are not limited to, the operation, maintenance and repair of all aspects of the built environment (buildings and structures and major appliances), staff housing inspections and repairs, grounds requirements (paths, roads, snow removal, etc.) and the vehicle fleet. The Maintenance Team Coordinator reports to the Facilities Director and Business Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 

• Manage Maintenance Technicians staff in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all physical infrastructure and property.

• Ensure maintenance staff members have all the necessary equipment, tools and supplies to accomplish their duties efficiently, effectively and safely.

• Establish and develop a robust training program to ensure all maintenance staff can perform their responsibilities safely and effectively.

• Work with the Systems Team to develop a robust cross departmental training program and collaborative work schedule to ensure smooth overall operations of the co-op.

• Must participate in a Radio On Call program through the workweek

• In coordination with the Safety Committee, maintain a departmental safety program: 

  • Ensure that all facilities staff are properly trained to perform their duties in compliance with OSHA requirements.

  • Maintain MSDS sheets per OSHA requirements.

  • Ensure all staff maintain safe and clear work areas, and establish adequate signage, fencing and lighting.

  • Ensure all known safety hazards are identified/demarcated.

  • Maintain an injury log and document all work-loss injuries of facilities staff..

• Manage Facilities Operation and Maintenance budgets within Board of Directors-approved targets. 

• Work with the Facilities Director to maintain adequate facilities staffing levels.

• Participate in performance reviews for all maintenance staff. 

• Source and oversee outside service contracts necessary to meet co-op goals within areas of accountability.

• Work with the Facilities Director to coordinate use of facilities resources and schedules for the completion of projects. 

• Work with facilities staff and the Facilities Director to develop project recommendations for the Membership and Board of Directors.

• Work with facilities staff and the Facilities Director to develop facilities budget requests and recommendations to the Board of Directors.

• Effectively use and maintain the BHS CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)(Click Up) to schedule and track operations activities and manage assets.

• Ensure that maintenance and repair activities are documented thoroughly within the BHS CMMS.

• Work with Automation to maintain facilities drawings in an as-built condition and ensure facilities maps are current.

• Work with the Personnel Coordinator to ensure proper onboarding of facilities staff.

Required Qualifications:
 

• 5-10  years experience managing maintenance professionals

• Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements

• Ability to lift 40lbs

• Effectively communicates with operations staff

• High school diploma or equivalent
