Are you a persuasive, enthusiastic, driven person interested in an Outside Sales position selling print and digital advertising space for a quality-driven media and publishing company?

Brehm Communications (BCI), a customer-focused, multi-state media company producing daily & weekly newspapers, special publications and magazines throughout California, Arizona and Utah, has openings on our Outside Sales team in various locations.

Hi-Desert Publishing Company (HDP), a subsidiary of BCI, is based in Yucca Valley, California, and is seeking self-driven, outgoing individuals for its Sales staff at the Hi-Desert Star and Desert Trail. Palm Springs and Morongo Basic territories available - representatives will be based out of the Yucca Valley office.

The Outside Sales duties involve making brief, winning sales pitches over the phone and in person to prospective customers, utilizing marketing materials and bundling products to fit the customer’s needs. Ideal qualities for this position include a patient and pleasant demeanor, since exceptional customer service and quality sales presentations are the pinnacle of success at our company. A willingness to go the extra mile and remain flexible is essential. Lastly, the ideal candidate will provide quality communication in manner of speech, remaining cognizant to customer marketing solutions!

As a member of the team, you will focus on selling ad space within the company’s products and bundling services to extend the greatest marketing opportunities to our customers.

Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for selling display advertising, writing sales proposals, using MS Excel and MS Word, entering insertion orders and applying rate cards and research data to further the sales process. Knowledge of customer management systems is a plus.
• You will be expected to meet and exceed sales goals, make cold calls, prospect for new customers, and build upon and service existing advertisers in your assigned territories.
• When calling and meeting with prospects, you will need to identify the key advertising placement decision-makers and initiate and pursue productive, consultative relationships.
• Ability to close sales, redirect the customers focus to the product(s) or proposal inquiries, up-sell frequency and maintain a viable working relationship with your customer accounts.

Qualifications:

• You should be articulate, tenacious, persuasive, prepared, meticulous, organized, energetic, a team player and have previous retail, inside and/or outside sales, or telephone sales experience.
• The outside advertising sales team is an excellent place to enhance your career in advertising sales, manufacture a series of successes, gain notice, contribute to community events and be promoted to higher levels of responsibility.
• You must have and maintain a clean driving record, access to a well-maintained vehicle during working hours, and personal car insurance. If hired as an employee, a motor vehicle record will be pulled during the pre-employment background screening process and you will also be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screening.
