JOB TITLE: Athletic Director
SUPERVISOR: Principal
BASIC FUNCTION: Provide leadership to the school in coordinating all athletic events and to promote self-concept and sportsmanship among students.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Coordinates all school/district athletic programs
- Cooperates and consults with administrative and instructional staff when developing, improving, and/or implementing new athletic programs
- Serves as the purchasing agent for athletic equipment and supplies and prepares a budget for the program
- Schedules support staff and officials for athletic events
- Maintains charge of storage and maintenance of all equipment and facilities as needed
- Demonstrates loyalty, dedication, and a positive attitude toward the mission and goals of the Breckinridge County Schools
- Is punctual and prepared for immediate assumption of duties upon arrival at athletic events
- Utilizes time appropriately and maintains good attendance
- Participates in professional development activities and continually upgrades skills
- Attends meetings and other school related programs as necessary and appropriate
- Assumes responsibilities of other duties relating to special athletic events
- Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Fundamentals of various athletic programs
- Health and safety regulations
- KHSAA rules, regulations, and guidelines
- Organization and planning methods, trends, techniques, and practices
- District athletic and extracurricular policies and procedures
ABILITIES:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage various school athletic programs
- Prepare, review, and analyze accounting, budget control, and files, records, summaries, and reports
- Develop and recommend changes in school athletic programs
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships

and peripheral vision.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Kentucky certificate, license, or other legal credentials
- Must possess a valid Kentucky driver's license
- Has met the requirements for criminal records check and child abuse and neglect check as specified by Kentucky State Law
- Three (3) years of responsible coaching or administrative experience
- Ability to work effectively with students and coaches
