Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Current college enrollment or coursework in a related field preferred.

Experience: Internship, volunteer experience, or work experience supporting individuals with IDD, event planning, recreation, or campus life programs preferred

Summary: The Campus Life Coordinator supports daily programming, special events, and community-life initiatives at Breckenridge Village. This role assists with activity planning, supply preparation, communication, and resident engagement to help ensure meaningful and inclusive experiences. The Campus Life Coordinator collaborates with the Director of Campus Life and Event Coordinator while gaining hands-on experience in adaptive recreation, nonprofit operations, and community programming.

Essential Functions:

To successfully perform this job, the employee may be expected to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990:

  • Assist with planning and preparing campus programming and activity supplies.
  • Support daily activities and special events across campus.
  • Assist with event set-up, clean-up, and coordination tasks.
  • Help create communication, flyers, and calendars as assigned.
  • Participate in distribution and collection of activity materials and supply kits.
  • Support campus-wide events, outings, and weekend activities as needed.
  • Assist with volunteer coordination and sign-ins.
  • Collect resident feedback and participation notes.
  • Support Mehling Center events as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Measurable Deliverables:

  • Activity prep and supply systems completed on time.
  • Event and activity support delivered with positive staff and resident feedback.
  • Calendar and communication content prepared accurately and timely.
  • Participation and feedback forms completed and submitted.

Credentials, Skills and Abilities:

  • Maintain current licenses and certificates required for this position including, but not limited to: ☐ Administrator’s License ☐First Aid ☐CPR ☐Emergency Behavior Intervention

  • Possess a valid Texas drivers’ license, work eligibility status and have a good driving record.
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
  • Must pass all pre-employment background checks including: Criminal History, Employee Misconduct, Nurse’s Aide Registry, driving check and pass annual background checks.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screen throughout employment.
  • Knows the indicators of abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and appropriate reporting and documentation procedures.
  • Demonstrate the ability to:
  • Be appropriately firm, flexible, and patient with clients.
  • Know when to ignore and when to correct undesirable behavior in clients and how to address such behaviors without setting up power struggles.
  • Praise and reward appropriate behaviors and redirect inappropriate behaviors.
  • Employ preventive and de-escalation techniques in crisis intervention.
  • Show appreciation and appropriate affection consistent with professional boundaries to clients without the gesture being misinterpreted.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and oral communication.
  • Knows normal patterns of human growth and development.
  • Function compatibly and participate constructively in a team environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize tasks to work efficiently without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Teaching and mentoring clients and personnel through effective leadership.
  • Administer first aid and CPR if necessary.
  • work under minimal supervision and exercise good financial and operational judgment.
  • Maintain computer literacy for assigned tasks
  • Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Communicate promptly with Director of ICF-IID, House Manager and /or RN regarding needs and problems of individual ICF-IID clients.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Residential Services and Day Habilitation policies and procedures.
