Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School seeks a motivated, collaborative, and experienced fundraising professional for the newly created position of Philanthropy Gift Officer. This external-facing role is vital to advancing the school’s mission by building and strengthening relationships with high-level donors.
The Philanthropy Gift Officer will personally communicate Brebeuf Jesuit’s goals and values to alumni, parents, and friends through strategic, in-person engagement. The primary focus of this position is the execution of a comprehensive capital campaign scheduled to conclude in December 2030. This role will play a critical part in securing leadership-level gifts of 100,000 dollars and above, as well as planned gifts in support of Brebeuf’s strategic priorities. Working closely with the Vice President of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement and development colleagues, the Philanthropy Gift Officer will drive results that ensure the long-term success of the campaign and the school’s institutional vision.
A demonstrated ability and comfort level in soliciting major gifts of 100,000 dollars or more is required.
This position reports to the Vice President of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement.

Duties/Responsibilities

- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, with an emphasis on commitments of 100,000 dollars or more from alumni, parents, friends, and other stakeholders.
- Establish subject-matter expertise on Brebeuf Jesuit’s mission, academic and athletic programs, and strategic funding priorities to communicate effectively with constituents.
- Conduct a minimum of 18 individual in-person donor meetings per month, with timely and detailed documentation in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge.
- Craft personalized campaign proposals and gift agreements, and design and implement stewardship plans to ensure gratitude and enhance donor retention.
- Document donor engagement by tracking interactions and moves management in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge to ensure accurate campaign reporting.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement and the Director of Prospect Research and Data Operations to proactively identify new prospects for giving and volunteer leadership roles.
- Partner with the President and other advancement staff to set and track engagement metrics, including visit volume, solicitations, and stewardship activities.
- Consistently meet or exceed annual fundraising targets and performance benchmarks.
- Participate in key donor-related events and other activities to advance relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of five years of demonstrated success in securing significant gifts.
- Proven success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors, preferably during a capital campaign.
- Exceptional interpersonal, writing, and organizational skills. Professionalism and strong acuity in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Proficiency with modern fundraising technologies, including Microsoft Office Suite and preferably Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge.
