Breakwater Accounting Advisory seeks an Associate or a Specialist to join our fast growing Non Profit team.

The Role:
The Associate or Specialist will be responsible for bookkeeping services for small and mid-size nonprofit clients including general client management. This position is HYBRID and will report to the Team Leader, Non Profit; some work will need to be on site at local clients!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Record & classify financial account activity in accounting systems (mainly QuickBooks Online)
- Manage client relationships
- Accounts Payable Processing: record all vendor invoices and prepare bill payments, per approval protocol
- Accounts Receivable: prepare customer invoices or sales receipts, receive payments, and follow-up on aging receivables
- Payroll processing, per approval protocol
- Reconcile accounts monthly
- Scanning documentation into accounting system if needed
- Filing and organizing client records

Qualifications:
- QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience preferred
- Accounting and bookkeeping knowledge and experience preferred
- Nonprofit experience preferred
- Comfortable with technology
- Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and can work in a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines using excellent time management skills with ease and professionalism
- Effective problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- Professional w/excellent interpersonal & organizational skills
- Strong team player
Compensation:
- We provide a base salary of $44,000 to $62,000
- As a valued Full Time employee, you will be eligible for our health and ancillary health benefits, and 401K company match
- FIVE weeks of PTO and paid company holidays
