Senior IT Engineer Overview
The Senior IT Engineer performs Network LAN/WAN, Wireless, Telecom engineering and system administration. Breakthru Beverage has over 50 sites connected via Versa SD-Wan and Vpn Tunnels. The Network Team ensures stable operation of each LAN environment, the WAN and two (2) Data Centers along with telecom systems.
Senior IT Engineer Responsibilities
- Management installation and upgrades of core networking systems relating to a WAN and two (2) data centers. Networking systems include Cisco switches, Cisco Firewalls, Cisco Routers, and Cisco/Aerohive Wireless access points. Work as part of a team that manages a 50 site SD-Wan network.
- Provides troubleshooting and resolution for escalated tickets from the National Service Desk.
- The Senior IT Engineer will possess the ability to take the lead on networking projects that could require planning, coordination and staying within a set budget. Example project: Replacement of 20 end of life switches at a remote office.
- Work with the Carriers and local contacts to escalate and resolve connection issues.
- Participation in on-call rotation approximately once per quarter.
Senior IT EngineerQualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent technical training and work experience.
- 7 years of related experience, including two years in an Engineer or Administrator position.
- Experience in executing physical equipment installs.
- Cisco Certification is desired by not required.
- Cisco Switching, Cisco routing, Firewalls-Cisco, Fortinet, Wireless-Cisco. Aerohive.
- Understanding of MPLS, PTP, DIA, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, QOS, Wi-fi.
- Knowledge of Data Center networking such as Nexus, and ACI is a plus
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VMware, Server operating systems.
- Proficient in general office PC skills using MS Office and other various software applications or systems.
- Must be a result oriented professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, attention to detail and meet deadlines.
