ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director of HR Operations is responsible for ensuring our HR information system, benefits and compensation programs run smoothly, accurately and in full compliance with regulation, while also improving processes, documentation and service experience. The Director acts as the primary liaison between Breakthrough and our system vendors, benefits carriers and broker, ensuring service delivery expectations are met and issues are quickly resolved. The work will directly support both employee satisfaction and business continuity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the HRIS function including responsibility for vendor and systems integration as well as addressing technical HRIS issues from all stakeholder groups.
- Responsible for People team data reporting with a high level of focus on data integrity and auditing.
- Assist with testing and implementation of system upgrades, resolve system issues, mass data uploads, and perform scheduled activities.
- Execute the design, implementation, communication, and administration of the company's total rewards programs.
- Administer employee benefit programs, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability, supplemental insurances, SERS/STRS and COBRA, from enrollment through reconciliation and compliance.
- Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for benefits carriers and broker, monitoring service levels, escalating issues, and driving performance.
- Administer leaves of absence programs, ADA accommodations, unemployment compensation, workers compensation, paid time off.
- Administer employee compensation programs, including but not limited to, base pay structure design, position leveling and pricing, stipends, salary step assignment and salary administration and adjustments.
- Respond to employee benefit and compensation inquiries clearly and professionally.
- Collaborate with Finance and other People team departments to ensure data accuracy and operational alignment.
- Partner with People team members to lead and/or assist with the delivery of projects such as position control/management, return offer letter administration, displacements, background checks for current employees.

- In-depth knowledge of total rewards practices, trends, and regulations.
- Ability to deal with sensitive and complex situations, problems, and highly confidential information.
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion; appreciation of the confidential nature of verbal and written communications and records.
- A continuous improvement mindset.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required.
- 6 years of professional human resource operations administration experience.
- Experience managing third-party vendors or service providers.
- Experience leading HR projects or programs.
- Experience compiling data and preparing appropriate reports and documents.
- SHRM-CP/SCP or HRCI PHR/SPHR strongly preferred.
- Proficient in the knowledge and use of technical computer applications, including Google Suite.
