Job Summary:
We are seeking an HR Generalist who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment and can balance administrative expertise with people-focused leadership. This role manages core HR functions—recruitment, benefits, compliance, and employee relations—while driving employee engagement and retention strategies. You will also serve as an escalation point for management during scheduled weekend call rotations to address emergent issues and maintain continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop job postings and advertise positions across multiple platforms.
- Screen applicants, schedule interviews, and assist hiring managers with candidate selection.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
Employee Engagement & Retention
- Design and implement retention strategies to reduce turnover and improve employee satisfaction.
- Conduct stay interviews and analyze feedback to identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor retention metrics and report trends to leadership regularly.
Benefits Administration
- Manage health, dental, and vision enrollments and changes.
- Assist employees with benefit questions and claims resolution.
- Ensure compliance with benefit policies and maintain accurate records.
Policy & Compliance
- Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Assist with audits and prepare compliance documentation as needed.
Employee Relations
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR inquiries and concerns.
- Mediate conflicts and provide guidance on company policies.
- Support disciplinary processes and maintain documentation.
Training & Development
- Track mandatory training completion and maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate staff development sessions and continuing education programs.
HR Data & Reporting
- Maintain personnel files and HRIS data.
- Prepare HR reports for leadership, including turnover, engagement, and compliance metrics.
Weekend Leadership Oversight
- Participate in scheduled weekend call rotations to provide management-level support for emergent issues.
- Ensure proper reporting and escalation of critical matters to leadership.
Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2 years HR experience (healthcare preferred).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for drafting policies, employee communications, and reports.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain positive employee relations.
- Proven ability to develop and implement retention strategies and foster engagement.
- Knowledge of employment laws, compliance standards, and HR best practices.
- High level of confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HRIS systems preferred.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills in emergent situations.
