About the Role
Breakthrough Behavioral is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor Associate (LPHA) (Licensed Human Services Provider Associate) to support individuals with mental health needs under supervision. The LPHA will deliver therapy, conduct assessments, and assist in treatment planning under the guidance of licensed clinicians. Services may be delivered in offices, client homes, or community settings, focusing on empowering clients, enhancing functioning, and supporting recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct supervised assessments and provide therapy to individuals and families.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions to support symptom reduction and skill development.
- Monitor client progress and assist licensed clinicians with treatment planning.
- Provide crisis intervention with supervisory oversight.
- Educate clients and families on mental health conditions and symptom management.
- Coordinate care and access to community resources.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and professional documentation.
- Participate in supervision, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development.
- Foster a trauma-informed environment emphasizing safety, trust, collaboration, and empowerment.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related human services field.
- Active LPHA-level license in Texas (associate or provisional).
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in behavioral health or mental health preferred.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively under supervision while managing client caseload.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
