About the Role
The Referral Coordinator & Patient Onboarding Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and supportive experience for every patient. The ideal candidate will manage the referral and onboarding process from start to finish with accuracy, compassion, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, complete, and track patient referrals (internal and external)
- Verify insurance benefits, contact insurance companies, and navigate insurance portals
- Manage the new patient onboarding process, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Schedule patient appointments to keep clinicians’ calendars organized and full
- Maintain and update referral tracking spreadsheets and communication logs
- Build positive relationships with clinicians, patients, and external providers
- Ensure all referral-related tasks are handled with timeliness, accuracy, and professionalism

Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must have experience in healthcare, mental health, or human resources
- Experience in medical office management required
- Organize patient records using electronic health records keeping
- Supervise daily practice operations such as some billing, debt collections, onboarding of new clients
- Interact with patients and address their needs in a timely manner
