In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while making a positive impact every day. This position is Monday -Friday, 7 am-3:30 pm. Must be willing to work rotating holidays(Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe their condition closely to ensure safety and well-being
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain health and safety standards
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to support proper nutrition and hydration
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient observations, and progress in compliance with privacy regulations
- Support clients during community outings or activities to foster social engagement and community integration
- Transport clients to appointments and outings
- Administer medications
Skills
- Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Strong understanding of dementia, Alzheimer’s, memory care, autism spectrum disorder, and other developmental disabilities
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance, and nursing or hospice care experience are highly valued
- Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning, to maintain a safe living environment
- Excellent patience and observation skills to monitor changes in behavior or health status effectively
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, patient transfers using Hoyer lifts, and long periods of standing or walking
