As a CNC Operator, you’ll be a key member of our Digital Fabrication team, working hands-on with CNC routers, laser cutters, and other precision tools to produce parts and subassemblies used throughout BRDG’s fabrication and creative tech projects.
With 4 years of CNC experience, you’re confident programming toolpaths, troubleshooting machines, and ensuring accuracy throughout the process. You’ll work cross-functionally with other fabricators and team leads to keep jobs moving efficiently and deliver precision work that meets our rigorous standards for quality and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
- CNC Operation & Production
- Operate CNC routers, laser cutters, and other digital fabrication equipment with precision and care.
- Program and execute toolpaths based on technical drawings, CAD files, and production specs.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and materials for accurate, repeatable operations.
- Load and unload material safely, manually or with assistance/material-handling equipment.
- Maintenance & Shop Care
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and cleaning to ensure optimal performance.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe Digital Fabrication Shop.
- Follow direction from leads to maximize efficiency across equipment and workspace.
- Collaboration & Coordination
- Partner with other CNC Operators and Fabricators to execute production timelines.
- Communicate with team leads and project managers to flag issues or suggest improvements.
- Occasionally assist with subassembly or light fabrication tasks when needed.
- Participate in collaborative reviews to offer insights into fabrication feasibility and efficiency.
- Quality Assurance
- Inspect completed parts for accuracy, fit, and finish—reworking when necessary.
- Maintain logs of completed jobs, equipment use, and performance benchmarks.
- Uphold BRDG’s quality standards through attention to detail and pride in your craft.
- Safety & Responsibility
- Follow all safety protocols and encourage best practices across the shop.
- Safely operate forklifts and assist with basic rigging or packing when required.
- Use common sense and care when handling tools, materials, and workspace.
About You (Qualifications):- 4 years of professional experience operating CNC equipment in a production or fabrication setting
- Strong knowledge of CNC routers, laser cutters, and digital fab tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD files, and technical drawings
- High proficiency in measurement, layout, and basic shop math
- Experience in loading/unloading materials safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with standard shop tools and fabrication processes
- Forklift operation and basic rigging experience (preferred but not required)
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Dedication to craftsmanship, professionalism, and safe work practices
- A problem-solving mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
