We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a Concierge. This person will have a genuine interest in working with older adults and be able to engage, motivate, and support both residents and fellow team members. The Concierge is responsible for all incoming phone calls, directing calls to proper parties, taking and distributing messages; greeting and directing all visitors and residents; and distributing business and inner office mail in the evenings, weekends, holidays, and other times as assigned. The Concierge performs various duties for the residents, such as receiving information on transportation requests; accepting packages and logging packages; accepting medication and logging medication; notifying residents of any package and medication deliveries; and making copies and sending fax messages for the residents. The Concierge maintains various records on resident information such as the resident address list and the resident “out of town” list. The Concierge has a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures and security computer response.
Essential Functions:
- Greet all guests with hospitality, determine their purpose, and then notify the appropriate staff member.
- Receive and record packages and deliveries and distribute to appropriate residents and staff members.
- Answer a multi-line phone system and handle calls as appropriate, including, but not limited to, transferring calls and taking and relaying messages. Answer phones, take messages, and respond to requests in a timely manner.
- Assists in maintaining resident information. Typing as assigned. Sorts and distributes mail.
- Responsible for relaying any pertinent information to the Front Desk Supervisor and/or Executive Director. Monitors the weather radio and informs management of any weather or other emergent information that would affect the community.
- Ability to properly answer and handle incoming phone calls to the Community, including those made by services/devices used for the deaf or hard of hearing customers.
- Maintain work area and keep the department in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
- Effectively communicates both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrates the community hospitality promises towards residents, families, associates, and vendors.
- Assists other departments as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, and follow written and verbal directions.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Must be able to work well and maintain a pleasant manner under pressure or with a high degree of interruption.
- Ability to type, file, and handle a multi-line telephone is essential. Knowledge of Microsoft Word is desirable.

Mental & Physical Requirements
