What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Supervision Officer position at Brazoria County?
The Community Supervision Officer supervises a caseload of misdemeanor and felony offenders placed on community supervision by the criminal courts of Brazoria County.

Duties include but are not limited to: monitoring compliance with court-ordered conditions through office and field contacts, conducting assessments, developing case supervision plans and communicating effectively with defendants. This individual must be able to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of department personnel and other criminal justice-related personnel. Starting salary $51,227 based on experience and qualifications. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, criminology, corrections, counseling, rehabilitative studies, social work, psychology, sociology or a related field conferred by an institution of higher education accredited by an accrediting organization recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. One year of experience in full-time casework or counseling and current certification as a community supervision officer is desirable.
The required work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with alternating late night of 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every other Tuesday or Thursday.
