Position Summary
As a Flatwork Finisher, you will be an integral part of our construction team, responsible for delivering high-quality concrete flatwork. Your primary duties will include assisting with the precise setting of formwork, fine grading and compacting base materials, and ensuring the accurate placement of concrete. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship are essential in this role.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist with precision setting of formwork for pours (can set forms to a provided line or elevation.)
Precise fine grading and compacting of base material.
Assist with detailed fabrication and installation of reinforcing steel.
Proper placement of concrete inside of formwork.
Screeding/striking-off placed concrete.
High-quality floating and handwork that is flat and smooth, and free of any blemishes or trowel marks.
High attention to detail when hand finishing around drains, penetrations through slab, at edges, and around forms.
Precision layout, proper spacing, and installation of hand-tooled, or saw-cut control.
(Joints, edges, and around forms.)
Helps get tools ready in the morning for the rest of day.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license prior to employment.
Any combination of education and experience demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions.
Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy/highway construction work.
Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
