Job Title: Structural EngineerLocation: Irvine, CADuration: Full Time OverviewThe Chief Structural Engineer plans, organizes, and manages all structural engineering activities within the department. This role is responsible for producing high-quality structural working drawings and specifications for all projects handled by the office and may also support structural engineering efforts in other offices. The ideal candidate demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment while leading a team of structural professionals. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES· Lead and oversee all structural engineering activities to ensure timely and accurate production of drawings and specifications.· Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to establish long-range departmental plans, goals, and objectives.· Ensure all structural engineering services meet professional standards, client expectations, and company requirements.· Maintain responsibility for the quality, accuracy, and productivity of the structural engineering department.· Participate in preparing man-hour estimates for design activities and allocate manpower effectively.· Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction to engineering staff and subordinates.· Offer expert input on conceptual estimates related to structural materials.· Coordinate closely with the Director of Engineering and Project Managers to identify and fulfil project staffing needs.· Support proposal development, including client presentations and business development initiatives.· Utilize professional judgment to direct the use of various structural engineering and computer software tools effectively. REQUIREMENTS· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (4-year degree required).· Minimum of 16 years of relevant structural engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.· Professional Engineering (PE) registration required.· Strong understanding of the capabilities and limitations of structural engineering and computer software tools.· Demonstrated creativity, leadership, and advanced engineering judgment.
Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
