Job Summary: Performs a variety of technical (including Flu, Strep, Covid, UDS, HCG POC), clerical and communicative tasks for the effective operation of the Medical Clinic. The MHT (Mental Health Tech) plays a critical role in supporting the mental and physical well-being of patients within healthcare settings. This position involves providing direct care and assistance to patients experiencing mental health challenges, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity at all times. The role requires close collaboration with nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans and respond promptly to patient needs. The Mental Health Tech (MHT) also monitors patient behavior, reports changes, and helps create a therapeutic environment conducive to recovery. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to the overall quality of patient care and the smooth operation of mental health services within the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Six months to one year patient contact experience required.
- Training in CPI required, Brattleboro Retreat will Provide
- Must have valid driver's license without any record of motor vehicle violations or convictions limiting driving privileges
- CPR certification required
- Clerical Experience preferred
- Organized and flexible; ability to set priorities and multitask.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core Competencies
Performs Covid, Flu, Strep, UDS, HCG POC testing and entering in patients' chart. Relays test results and messages to the appropriate people following established Retreat polices as requested, ensuring effective communication and confidentiality
Keeps accurate records in Meditech. Correctly maintaining records and entering in patient's chart
Tracks Medical Clinic inventory and supplies report to manager when needed.
Receives X-Rays results, and copies to appropriate department/units in a timely fashion, as necessary, ensuring rapid delivery of information to appropriate persons for efficient care decisions
Schedules appointments on X-Ray ensuring timely, appropriate care and attention for patients and staff. Organizes and monitors the flow of the Clinic workload.
Maintains flexibility based on clinic needs.
Assists with triage of patients insuring that compromised patients receive appropriate care quickly.
Relays test results and messages to the appropriate people following established Retreat policies as requested, ensuring effective communication and confidentiality.
