FOR IMMEDIATE HIRE -- Learn all about dog behavior from one of the premier dog trainers and behaviorists in the Bay Area. For a job that's more than "babysitting" dogs like at some facilities, you'll learn all about proper leash handling, behavior management, body language, play manners, and social engagement. Description: Monitor dogs for safety during outdoor group play. Ensure appropriate play between dogs using safe, approved correction techniques (all training provided). Opportunities for growth in both pay and position.
Schedule: Hours will vary between 6:30AM-9:00PM Monday-Friday, and MANDATORY weekend availabilty which includes Saturday 0700 to 1200 or 330 pm to 830 pm and Sunday 0700 to 1100 am and 430 pm to 830 pm . Approximately 20 hours per week, with opportunity to grow to 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor dogs in a cage-free outdoor play yard
- Clean up after dogs both indoors and outdoors
- Apply dog behavior management techniques to ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs
- Confidently handle dogs on leash
- Interact with customers and their dogs in a positive manner
- Daily cleaning duties including brooming, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing, and emptying trash.
Required Experience:
- Some experience with dogs, whether as pet care professional, volunteer, or pet owner
Desired Experience:
- Previous dog handler experience at another dog care facility
- Previous cleaning experience
Required Skills:
- Willingness to handle dogs, including large dogs, in a confident manner
- Ability to interact with customers and coworkers in a professional manner
- Ability to think and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment
Education:
- Minimum high school diploma
Special Requirements:
- This position requires occasional weekend duty (up to twice per month). Candidates who cannot accommodate occasional weekend shifts will not be considered.
- This position is very physical and active in nature and requires the following physical capabilities:

-- Tolerance for working outdoors, including during excessive heat
