What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Success Coach position at Brantwood Children's Home?
Job Summary:
Under general direction, provide a structured living environment and supervision for individuals between the ages of 10 and 20 who have endured trauma and /or neglect. The Residential Success Coach would help youth who have experienced trauma develop the necessary functioning skills to cope and thrive.
Schedule: Week 1, the shift would consist of a 48 and 72 hour, rotating shift pattern, which requires staying overnight when on shift. The employee's work shift would begin Monday morning and end Wednesday morning. Off days would consist of Wednesday and Thursday, then work shift would begin Friday and end Monday morning, which would be a 72 hour shift. The following week, the employee's shift would begin Wednesday morning and end Friday morning and off the remaining days during the week.
To be a successful Residential Success Coach you must be willing and become able to do the following always:
1. Model and teach youth the knowledge and skills they will need to successfully leave the program and live in a community setting or live independently by using a trauma informed approach.
2. Help youth self-manage their behavior by using de-escalation techniques, basic living skills, and interpersonal skills without the need for the use of emergency safety interventions.
3. Provide transportation to youth to appointments and activities in a timely and professional manner, ensuring proper documentation/materials are received/present.
4. Coordinate and participate in daily activities with youth.
5. Achieve positive discharge outcomes for youth.
6. Follow agency Policies and Procedure as outlined.
High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must be 23 years of age. Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance required. The applicant must be able to obtain a clear Child Abuse/Neglect Clearance (CA/N), Criminal History, Motor Vehicle Report, Montgomery County Police Background check. In addition, the candidate must have a desire to enhance the lives of the of youth living at Brantwood and support the mission of Brantwood.
