Graphic/Digital Design Internship Opportunity: Summer 2026
Branigan Inc., an integrated creative communication company located in Milwaukee’s always-vibrant Third Ward, is seeking a talented, enthusiastic Graphic Design Intern for a 2026 summer position. The ideal candidate is eager to work alongside and learn from talented creatives; is ready to contribute to the creative output for internal and client projects; and desires to understand the overall functions of all aspects of a marketing communications company.
This is a paid internship, and we’re looking for a part-time (8 hours/day, Monday - Wednesday) commitment running from May 26 through August 5.
We believe the internship experience should be beneficial for both Branigan and interns. We are committed to mentoring and guiding interns as they prepare for their careers, as well as providing opportunities to produce real work for clients and internal projects — truly a win-win situation.
Graphic /Digital Design Intern responsibilities include:
- Support the creative team by designing a wide variety of work across multiple platforms including digital, print/traditional, web/mobile, and social media.
- Concept development by assisting in brainstorm/ideation sessions, contributing creative ideas, and utilizing research to take ideas to concepts.
- Internal promotions, including development of client presentations, pitch decks, and other materials to showcase Branigan’s work.
- Work with creative and digital teams to create visual and written content for social media, websites, and other digital platforms.
- Collaboration 101: Exposure to different teams within the agency — such as account management, strategy, communications/PR, and digital — to better understand the workings of Branigan and grasp the holistic creative process.
- Maintain a positive attitude throughout the internship and handling extra/unplanned time demands positively and constructively.
Qualifications:
- Actively working towards a degree in graphic/digital design, marketing, communications, or related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with After Effects/motion design a plus.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Thorough understanding and demonstration of design excellence, including color, typography, brand standards and layout principles.
- Strong communication skills and ability to contribute thoughtful responses and opinions as well as take constructive criticism.
- Professional approach to learning and a solid work ethic.
- Ability to effectively conceptualize in both group and individual settings.
