Visitor Services Weekend Supervisor

The Delaware Zoological Society of the Brandywine Zoo is hiring! We are looking for someone to join our management team. This Supervisor will work mainly weekends with a focus on overseeing the Visitor Services staff, maintaining the Concession stand, hosting birthday parties and assisting with any events. This position will be split between supervising Visitor Services staff mainly in concessions and hosting birthday parties. This person will also be responsible for managing the Visitor Services staff and ensuring all guests have a positive interaction while visiting the Brandywine Zoo on days when the main supervisor is not present.

The Visitor Services Supervisor will work closely with the Visitor Services Manager and Events Manager to manage staff and provide an excellent experience for guests. As Supervisor, they will responsible for ensuring all staff is adhering to zoo policies and providing guests with the best customer service. As concessions manager, they will be responsible for ensuring all food safety and customer service guidelines are being met. As the birthday party coordinator, you will be responsible for setting up and cleaning up after birthday parties and assisting with any Zoo events.

This is a part-time position that will not exceed 24 hours a week. The Supervisor will work mostly Friday-Sunday, and select weekday evenings. The position runs through December with the potential to continue the following year. The Visitor Services Supervisor should have three years of customer service experience and at least one year of management experience.

Requirements:

· Have a warm and positive attitude

· Have at least 3 years management experience

· Some retail experience preferred

· 18 years of age or older

Responsibilities Include:

• Cash handling and management
• Must be able to become Serv-Safe certified within one month of employment.
• Managing the staff and ensuring everyone is adhering to high levels of customer service
• Maintain an orderlery Concession stand; stocking items, cleaning and follow all food safety guidelines
• Working with the Visitor Services team to create a cohesive and fun work environment

Other considerations:

• The Brandywine Zoo is open to the public 364 out of the year, therefore all positions require employees to work some weekends, holidays and evenings.
• The zoo is mostly outdoors, so this position requires willingness to work outdoors for periods of time on occasion. Events are generally held rain or shine
• Occasional lifting, bending and walking are normal expectations. Must be able to lift 25 pounds. Be able to stand and/or site for extended periods of time.
