Job Overview
BWS is seeking a Digital Content Manager to be an integral part of our team. As a Digital Content Manager, you will simultaneously manage blogs and social media projects for multiple clients and the company, ensuring that all deadlines are met with the highest quality. You will take the lead on social media and blog strategy and calendar development, client social media meetings, and BWS team collaboration to meet clients’ SM goals, and will manage the productivity of our clients’ social media programs. You will be responsible for generating and editing blog posts, generating SM channel posts, scheduling social media channel posts using scheduling tools, and providing SM client reports. You may also work with other writers to meet blog obligations.
Strong writing and editing skills are required; experience writing for science or technology markets is a plus. You must have business experience with social media content creation and social media tools and tactics, including SEO/AEO and Canva. Experience working with WordPress websites for uploading blog posts is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute start-to-finish blog-post delivery, including establishing processes with clients, identifying topics, creating and managing blog content calendars and ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Write and edit long-form content (500-1,000-word blog posts).
- Oversee social media for the company and clients, including leading social media strategy, establishing processes with clients, and developing and managing social media calendars.
- Write and edit short-form content for social media platforms, including both scheduled content and real-time posts to support conferences, tradeshows, speaking engagements, and company and industry news.
- Work closely with graphic designer in planning images and graphics to support content; create and edit graphics in Canva as needed.
- Serve as the in-house expert in SEO/AEO.
- Maintain ultimate responsibility for final content quality and delivery for all blogs and social media, including editing work produced by external contributors and graphic designers.
- Analyze metrics to optimize social media strategy as needed. Provide ongoing social media reporting and conduct annual audits of client’s goals to ensure current strategy and tactics are aligned.
- Interface with clients.
- Utilize internal and client tools: Microsoft Office suite, Google Workspace, Monday.com, Multiple Canva Pro accounts, SocialPilot and other possible scheduling platforms such as Buffr and HootSuite.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing social media for business accounts
- Working knowledge of SEO/AEO
- Proven project management experience with strong problem-solving skills
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or related field, or in a science discipline with social media experience
- Excellent interpersonal, team leadership and written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and social media scheduling platforms like SocialPilot, HootSuite, Buffr
- Experience creating graphics in Canva Pro
- Experience with cloud-based hosting platforms and version control tools
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, including Monday, Trello, Asana, Pivotal Tracker, and Basecamp a plus
- Knowledge of science/technology/pharmaceutical markets a plus
