This role will be part of global engineering supporting commercial, industrial and energy businesses. This position will be in St. Louis, MO and will be reporting to the Product Development Manager, North America.
Summary:
To lead design and testing of new products, custom components, maintenance of existing product lines and development of product literature.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate team of Engineers and Technicians to conceptualize, design, perform detailed Engineering analysis and calculations, perform testing and create drawings and bills of material of new access systems and components (scaffolds, suspended access systems, etc.).
- Leverage Engineering CAD, FEA and PDM management tools effectively.
- Document NPD deliverables to complete projects.
- Communicate project status with the product development team.
- Assist in development of product literature.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in mechanical engineering or equivalent required, master's degree or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 5 years Engineering experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills necessary along with a customer service focus.
- Motivated to learn new and challenging tasks and work in the construction industry.
- Creative problem solving, in a collaborative team environment.
- Must have strong computer skills, proficiency in MS Office required.
- Proficiency with CAD and drafting required.
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or similar engineering software to perform CAD, FEA and PDM required.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, welding, steel fabrication, painting, galvanizing and coatings strongly desired.
- Knowledge of engineering software such as structural analysis, FEA, SCIA and others a plus.
- Understanding of scaffolding systems, construction methods, and industry standards a plus.
