What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Representative position at Brand X Hydrovac Services?
Brand X Hydrovac provides safe, precise hydrovac excavation, daylighting, trenching, and utility locating for energy, utilities, construction, and civil projects. We’re growing across West Texas and looking for a driven Business Development Rep to expand our footprint in the Permian.
What you’ll do
- Build and own a book of business across E&P, midstream, utilities, and civil contractors in West Texas.
- Prospect daily: cold calls, site visits, and networking events.
- Qualify opportunities, scope jobs with our ops team, and deliver timely, accurate quotes.
- Nurture key accounts, track project pipelines, and forecast weekly.
- Partner with operations and field supervisors to ensure top-tier service and rapid response.
- Represent Brand X at industry events, safety meetings, and pre‑job walkthroughs.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and bid calendars; recommend pricing and positioning.
- Drive compliance with safety and customer requirements; champion Brand X’s safety culture.
What you’ll bring
- 2 years in outside sales or business development; industrial, oilfield services, or construction experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with hydrovac, vacuum excavation, utility locating, or related services a plus.
- Proven hunter mentality: disciplined prospecting, territory planning, and closing.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills from field to boardroom.
- Comfortable on job sites (PPE) and in the truck between customer visits; valid driver’s license.
- Organized and data-driven.
- Safety-first mindset and the ability to coordinate fast-moving field operations.

Territory and travel
- Primary territory: Permian Basin (Midland–Odessa, Andrews, Monahans, Pecos, Big Spring).
- 60–75% local travel; occasional overnight travel for conferences or remote projects.
How success is measured
- New logos added, revenue growth, and gross margin on closed work.
- Quote turnaround time and win rate.
- Account retention and multi-service penetration.
- Activity metrics: quality meetings set, site visits, and pipeline accuracy.
Compensation
- OTE range: market-competitive for West Texas hydrovac/industrial services; base commission.
- Final package commensurate with experience.
