What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bulletin 2536 Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) Coordinator Braintree Public Schools position at Braintree Public Schools?
The Braintree Public Schools provides Extended School Year services to eligible students on IEPs each summer. The District has 4 and 6 week classrooms and provides related services as discreet services during the 4 week session. The coordinator is responsible for the preplanning of ESY, which begins during the winter, and includes but is not limited to:
- collecting information from teachers about eligible students
- organizing the sections of classrooms
- organizing the schedules for students receiving discreet services with those servie providers
- organizing the transportation information for the Transportation Department
- Sending a Parent Square registration message to parents of eligible students and managing their responses
- hiring and training staff
- organizing and setting up classroom spaces with appropriate materials
- working with Facilities to ensure spaces are ready for ESY
The coordinator works closely with the Director of Special Services, special education staff, and special services administrative assistants to ensure the smooth operation of the ESY programs and services.
