What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bulletin 2477 Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for the Braintree Public Schools position at Braintree Public School District?
Full time position supporting students with moderate/severe disabilities including students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other complex needs in a public day school setting.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assists the classroom teacher and/or the BCBA in implementing behavioral programming
- Works with students 1:1 or in small groups
- Implements and oversees student behavior support plans
- Monitors and records students progress on daily and periodic basis, using an assigned data-based recording system (specifically ABC Data and DDT Trial Data)
- Consults with school staff, family and other Team members.
- Provides teachers/staff with resources, tools, and modeling of techniques
- Assists with supervision of daily routines and schedules. This may include services such as feeding, toileting, diapering, and assisting therapists
- Participates in appropriate staff development as required to ensure professional growth
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the teacher and school administrators
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students, staff, and family
- Supervises students in community settings

- School-based experience preferred
- Ability to assist in providing guidance and oversight of school-wide behavioral management system as well as individualized behavior plans
- Possesses a strong belief that all students can learn and be successful in school
- Demonstrates a mindset that focuses on assets & growth, as opposed to deficits
- Ability to demonstrate competence in behavior management skills
- Willingness to try various approaches, depending on student need
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with other special education staff and other colleagues in a professional manner

- Utilize data and reflection to plan for supports and intervention
- Ability to seek resources and solutions to effectively solve problems
Minimum Requirements:
- BACB approved RBT course
- Current registration to the BACB
- Certification in District-approved crisis management program (or obtained within the first 90 days of employment. Currently Braintree uses QBS-safety care training)
