Virtual School-Based Physical Therapist supports students with physical disabilities or motor challenges in accessing their education within an online learning environment. Through teletherapy services, the therapist evaluates, plans, and implements individualized physical therapy interventions that promote functional independence, mobility, and participation in virtual school activities. The goal is to help students achieve their educational objectives and enhance their overall well-being in collaboration with families and school teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual assessments and evaluations to determine students’ physical therapy needs in accordance with IDEA and state regulations.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals related to physical therapy in collaboration with the IEP team.
- Deliver virtual physical therapy services through secure online platforms, using evidence-based practices tailored to each student’s unique needs.
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals, and provide regular updates to parents and educational teams.
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other school personnel to support student success.
- Train and support caregivers and learning coaches in implementing physical therapy strategies within the home environment.
- Participate in virtual IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school, district, and legal requirements.
- Stay current with best practices in teletherapy and educational policies.

Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current and valid Physical Therapist license in the state(s) of service.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with school-aged children; experience in virtual or teletherapy settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP processes, and school-based therapy practices.
- Proficient in using virtual platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) and electronic documentation systems.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining active communication with the school team.
Multistate licensure is a plus.

- Fully remote, part-time position - must have a secure, distraction-free workspace and reliable internet connection.
- Flexible scheduling within school hours may be considered.
- Access to a camera and microphone for direct instruction periods
