Description & Requirements

We are in search of a 1 st Shift Janitor to join our growing team. The Janitor This position performs a variety of duties necessary to keep the distribution center and exterior grounds in a clean, and orderly condition.

Responsibilities Include

• Collects trash daily from various points throughout DC. Sort’s trash from recyclables as needed, and place in appropriate staging areas. Runs garbage compactor, and cardboard baler. Makes and stores cardboard bales as needed. Cleans trash receptacles as needed.
• Daily use and maintenance of a drivable floor scrubbing machine.
• Daily cleaning of shipping office.
• Fill in for other cleaning staff as needed, as well as other duties and projects as assigned by management.
• Additional duties or special projects as assigned.
  
  

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-2 years Commercial/Industrial cleaning experience. Ability to be trained on use of walkie-rider pallet jacks, as well as drivable floor scrubber.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear and smell. The employee is occasionally required to stand and sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance as needed. Push and pull from 10-2500 pounds using appropriate material handling equipment, operate auto scrubbers, vacuums, wet/dry vacs, extractors, sweepers, floor machines, and other janitorial cleaning equipment. May need to use a ramp, push, or pull automatic scrubbers or other equipment up or down the ramp. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  
  

Compensation & Benefits

The pay range for this role is $16.00-$17.00 an hour. This range represents what the company reasonably expects to pay an associate for this role based on current market data, internal equity, and other business factors. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations.
