Position Overview – This person will support customers on SCADA/Controls design work related to utility scale solar and BESS projects, and remote commissioning of utility scale renewable energy projects, and will also play a role as a Controls/Power Systems subject matter expert for when they are considering/creating new product lines.

Job Responsibilities – Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Develop and implement plant-level control logic using IEC-61131-3 standards (Function Block Diagram required).
- Program, configure, and commission PLCs, RTUs, and plant controllers.
- Design and tune PID and advanced control loops for active/reactive power control, voltage regulation, frequency response, ramp rate compliance, and battery charge/discharge management.
- Configure and troubleshoot communications using MODBUS (TCP & RTU) and DNP3 protocols.
- Perform stability analysis and control loop tuning in field and operational environments.
- Support grid compliance testing and performance validation.
- Analyze plant performance data to identify inefficiencies, oscillations, or instability.
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate control strategies into platform.
- Develop control narratives, functional descriptions, and commissioning documentation.
- Assist in the choosing of products and design of control panels.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus preferred)
- 2-5 years or more experience in power plant controls or industrial control processes – BESS/Solar experience preferred.
- Strong experience with IEC-61131-3 standards (Function Block Diagram)
- MODBUS and DNP3 communications experience
- Strong understanding of 3-phase power systems and real/reactive power control
- Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams and control schematics.
