Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within the municipal wastewater market.
- Build and maintain relationships with municipal utilities, consulting engineers, representative partners, and key industry stakeholders.
- Manage the sales process from lead generation through proposal development, contract negotiation, and project handoff.
- Develop strategies to influence project specifications and position solutions early in the project lifecycle.
- Navigate municipal procurement and approval processes, including engagement with plant leadership, executive management, boards, and governing bodies.
- Lead proposal development, project definition, and commercial negotiations in collaboration with internal technical and financial teams.
- Manage and expand a network of independent representatives and strategic partners across North America.
- Conduct market analysis and develop targeted growth strategies within existing and emerging markets.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, regulatory developments, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
- Maintain customer relationships and support long-term account development initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project execution, and commercial teams to ensure successful project development and delivery.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or other STEM disciplines preferred.
- MBA or advanced business degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, project development, applications engineering, sales engineering, or solution-based capital equipment sales.
- Demonstrated success selling complex systems or infrastructure solutions into the municipal wastewater sector.
- Working knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, biosolids management, biogas systems, anaerobic digestion, or related environmental technologies.
- Proven ability to manage long-cycle, consultative sales processes involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation, relationship management, and networking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proposal development and executive presentations.
- Ability to engage effectively with consulting engineers, municipal leadership teams, plant operators, executive management, and governing bodies.
- Strong business acumen and ability to analyze markets, develop strategies, and drive revenue growth.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
