Responsibilities:
- Conduct health assessments and screenings for students
- Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with chronic health conditions
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Provide emergency care for students as needed
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to promote a healthy school environment
- Maintain accurate health records for all students
- Provide health education to students, staff, and parents
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to school health services
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in school nursing
Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
- Current CPR and first aid certification
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to school health services
