Duties
- Set up and operate laser cutting machines, ensuring accurate calibration and alignment for each job.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to produce parts that meet exact dimensions and tolerances.
- Program laser machines using specialized software to optimize cutting paths and improve productivity.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on laser equipment to maintain optimal performance.
- Operate forklifts and cranes safely to move raw materials or finished products within the facility.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling sheet metal, tooling, and heavy machinery to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by maintaining accurate documentation of production processes and quality checks.
Experience
- Proven experience operating laser cutting machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, assembly, and tooling.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to crane operation, sheet metal handling, hand tools usage, and quality inspection standards.
