As the Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, leading daily accounting operations, and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will assess, recommend, and lead financial transformation efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements for all entities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP or other applicable accounting standards.
- Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
- Develop and track budgets and cash flow forecasts for each entity.
- Perform variance analysis and suggest improvements to financial performance.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to protect assets and ensure financial accuracy. Manage physical inventory protocols and processes.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws, including sales and payroll tax filings.
- Monitor and control cash flow across entities to ensure sufficient liquidity.
- Work with executive leadership to provide financial insights and help shape business strategies.
- Assist with potential acquisitions, divestitures, or other growth initiatives through financial analysis.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding company information.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.

- Preferred: Seven (7) – Ten (10) plus years of progressive accounting experience in wholesale/retail.
- Preferred: Hands-on leader with experience in leading and developing teams.
- Preferred: Strong knowledge of FP&A, cost analysis, pricing, cash management, financial reporting, and leadership.
- Preferred: Significant experience in leading finance teams through M&A activities; Proven success in leading finance transformations.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CFA or CPA preferred).
- Preferred: Extensive ERP system expertise; office software such as Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, Oracle etc.
- Significant experience in leading finance teams through M&A activities.
- Preferred: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates and leadership
- Physical abilities: Ability to stand, walk and sit throughout your day; Walking on a variety of flooring such as carpet, concrete, tile etc;
- Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
- Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill executive directions in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
