Position Overview
The Mental Health Counselor provides assessment, counseling, and support services for children and families, working collaboratively with program staff to integrate mental health services into daily Club activities. This position also provides training and guidance to staff on promoting healthy coping skills and addressing behavioral concerns.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to youth experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges.
- Conduct mental health assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with youth, families, and staff.
- Consult and collaborate with program staff to create strategies that support youth development and behavioral management.
- Deliver workshops and training for staff and parents on mental health topics, trauma-informed care, and coping skills.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Assist in crisis intervention and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $30.00 per hour
