Job Description

This role provides leadership, supervision, and professional development for Clubhouse Directors and/or school site staff while managing budgets, membership recruitment, and facility oversight. The Area Director also fosters relationships with schools, families, and community partners, representing Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada at events to strengthen outreach.
Essential Job Duties
Clubhouse and/or School Site Management
- Provides overall management and coordination of a variety of Clubhouses and/or school site functions, including club and/or school site program oversight, membership application and recruitment, community relations, personnel, finance, budgets, special events, space and facilities planning.
- Ensures compliance and application of club and/or school site programs, activities, and services.
- Ensures membership applications and corresponding data are input into the member database system in a timely and accurate manner. Ensures maximum and consistent application of the Child Care Assistance program and collection of member fees.
- Ensures compliance with all grants, timecards, policies, and procedures and facilitates all necessary reporting.
- Manages all staff and member documentation for assigned clubhouses and/or school sites.
- Ensures and maintains maximum daily member attendance and membership growth according to organization standards and goals.
- Evaluates clubhouse and/or school site processes, programs, and systems for continuous improvement and innovation opportunities.
- Oversees the maintenance and safe operation of the physical properties and equipment of Club and/or school site facilities, including use of facilities by outside groups. Responsible for cleanliness, attractiveness, and safety of properties and equipment.
- Collaborates with all BGCSNV departments to ensure policies and procedures are enforced and practiced daily.
- Oversees and ensures the consistent application of the Clubhouse and/or school site rules, organizational policies, procedures, and practices.
- Ensures full compliance with school district and site-specific policies, procedures, and expectations. Serves as the primary liaison between BGCSNV and school administration; aligning Club operations with the host school’s standards and culture.
- Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club and/or school site members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions, instruct and advise.
- External: Maintains contact as needed with external community groups, schools, members’ parents/guardians, and others to assist in resolving problems.
- Provides insight, oversight, and assistance to Clubhouse Directors and/or school site staff within multiple clubhouses or school site locations as designated by the Assistant Director of Clubhouse Operations.
- Oversees hiring for assigned clubhouses and/or school sites and makes recommendations for final staffing decisions, participates in onboarding, training, evaluation, and counseling of Clubhouse/school site staff and volunteers.
- Provides positive leadership, support, recognition, rewards, and job skill development opportunities to all Clubhouse and/or school site personnel through effective supervision, performance management, training, and constructive discipline of staff according to organization standards and guidelines.
- Schedules, organizes, and directs assignments within Clubhouse Operations. Conducts regular staff meetings and one-on-ones.
- May serve as Clubhouse Director staff support for assigned clubhouses and/or school sites when necessary.
- May be assigned to oversee special program areas and/or events (i.e. Keystone Club, Youth of the Year, Sports Leagues, etc.), and/or participate in the implementation of other Clubhouse activities.
- May be required to assist with BGCSNV special events.
- May be required to drive Club van periodically.
- May provide attention and direction to special needs children.
- May consult with parents concerning member and Clubhouse issues.
- May perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g., education, child development, recreation and leisure, business administration) from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization, planning and implementing activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
- Five years of progressively responsible work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization/setting planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or three years of experience as a Clubhouse Director/Assistant Clubhouse Director.
- Financial management skills to include budget preparation, monitoring, and cost control.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google suite of productivity applications (Word, Excel, Forms, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to deal effectively with multi-age groups of children, small groups of children in activities and free play, and large groups of children in organized activities.
- Ability to meet deadlines with time constraints and handle multiple demands.
- Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills. Ability to interact professionally with the public and other professional staff.
- Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for the safety, well-being, and work output of others.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience teaching or providing training.
- Demonstrated organizational, staff, and project management abilities.
- Able to work occasional irregular or extended hours.
- Valid Nevada driver’s license and a good driving record. Use of personal vehicle may be required with reimbursement for mileage at standard IRS rates.
- Driving Position: Must be at least 21 years of age, with valid Nevada driver license and good driving record in order to transport passengers as mandated by our insurance company. Occasional local and distance driving may be required.
