Primary Function/Overview:

The Youth Services Program Coordinator position is an exciting role designed to add quality and efficiency to the BGCMCO TEAM. This role will be central to the organization’s commitment to deliver quality programming to our youth. Grant reporting may be an integral part of this position to help BGCMCO tell the amazing story of impact in our communities. The ideal candidate will approach the work from a holistic viewpoint of how programs are uniquely tied to impact, and the best ways to introduce synergies between operations and measurement. They will have experience with the ability to provide quality program evaluation, preferably in a non-profit setting. Experience working with youth in dynamic growing communities and partnering with community-based organizations is a plus.
The Youth Services Program Coordinator will drive evaluation efforts at BGCMCO to a new level of sophistication, developing and implementing new opportunities to build knowledge and evidence with an eye toward long-term growth, sustainability, and program refinement.
Under the general supervision of the Club Director and Managers, this position must be able to conduct, lead, and support the staff in the implementation of evidence based accountable programs to include all the priority outcomes areas for Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Character & Leadership/Citizenship Programs in the core program areas of Character & Leadership Development, Health & Wellness, Education, the Arts, Career Development, and Sports & Recreation. Also performs related administrative duties. This position will also be responsible for ensuring successful programs are implemented as scheduled and use an approved curriculum. Must be able to effectively evaluate programs and make program recommendations or changes based on the success of the programs. Tracking of successful outcomes and reporting is also required and must be reported to the Club Unit/Program Director. The position will provide quality programming to youth aged 5 to 18, with an emphasis on 12 to 18 year olds.
Responsibilities:
Prepare Youth for Success
· Ensure programs, services, and activities that prepare youth for success, promoting safety of members, and quality in programs always. Provide guidance and role modeling to members
· Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan by:
o Planning, organizing, and implementing a range of program services and activities for drop in members and visitors
o Initiating new programs with the approval of the Club Director and/or Club Program Director
o Recommending the development of service area programs
o Promoting and stimulating program participation
· Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests, and participating in staff meetings
o Establish and maintain outcome-based programs
Health & Safety
· Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members in program areas
o Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
· Manage facilities and ensure a productive work environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order
· Recommend requisitions as necessary, controlling expenditures against monthly supply budget
Marketing & Public Relations
· Increase visibility of club programs via posting of daily schedule, announcements of upcoming events, and the dissemination of timely information for the development of advertising and promotions
Program Development and Implementation
· Manage administrative systems by registering new members and participating in their club orientation process
· Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programs, services, and activities
· Create a program environment that promotes member participation
Supervision
· Recruit, train, and manage assigned volunteers; provide ongoing feedback; and identify and support development opportunities
· Provide proper record keeping and reporting including activities and events conducted, breakdowns of daily participation figures, notable achievements and any problems/issues

Qualifications:
· High School Diploma required; college degree preferred
· Minimum of one to two years’ experience in planning and implementing youth programs
· Self-motivated and resourceful, detailed evaluation/outcomes experience required
· Knowledge of youth development
· Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
· Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
· Ability to work with the general public
· Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
· Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
· Strong communication skills, both oral and written
· Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications
· Demonstrated technology skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Demonstrated ability to work across cultures and ethnic backgrounds
· Valid State Driver’s License required and meets eligibility requirements of insurance company regulations for those operating Club vehicles
Additional Accountabilities:
· Assist in providing direct supervision to volunteers and Club members
· Oversee and/or provide leadership in special programs and/or events
· Drive Club vehicle if need arises (CDL required to drive bus) if a valid state driver’s license is on file
· Utilize Club guidance and discipline plan when working with youth
o Consult with Club Unit/Program Director concerning member issues if needed
· Submit accurate, timely, written reports
· Assist in or handle special assignments as directed
· Ability to complete general cleaning duties
· May be involved as a staff liaison with parent advisory board or in parent meetings
Relationships:
Internal-Maintain daily contact with club staff, including full time, part time, and volunteers, to communicate any challenges, and opportunities; provide and receive information that warrants a productive working environment. Maintain daily contact with Supervisor and others as assigned.
External-Maintain contact with parents of members and other youth served; and provide communications/services to other youth-serving agencies, and business partners as assigned.
Environmental Working Conditions and Requirements:
· All work is conducted in a club setting, indoors and outside. Limited travel is required.
