YSB's ultimate focus is to ensure all youth have access to safety, shelter and the opportunity to succeed. We do this through offering an array of services including a transitional living program for pregnant/parenting young women. We work to help youth repair foundations which have been jolted by abuse, neglect, homelessness and lack of resources, by guiding youth into safety, ensuring they have shelter, and teaching them how to overcome various obstacles. Youth Service Bureau delivers client-centered, trauma-responsive, and preventative services and support to youth experiencing safety and housing crises.
Summary
As the BTO (Beating the Odds) Case Manager, you will provide young people with intensive case management sessions using Trauma-Informed Care, Positive Youth Development, and Evidence-Based Practices. Your responsibilities will include helping youth develop self-sufficiency plans, coordinating and leading daily life skills groups, and offering resources to help youth achieve independence. You will provide aftercare services to youth who have completed the program. You will maintain a client-centered and solutions-based approach when working with clients. Additionally, you will plan and facilitate outings for residents.
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for documenting case management sessions, group activities, and all interactions with clients.
- Meet with clients weekly for case management to work on their individual goals and conduct specific program assessments to help develop self-sufficiency plans.
- Assist clients in discovering their strengths and goals.
- Facilitate daily life skills groups from Monday to Friday, focusing on budgeting, healthy relationships, job skills, and essential life skills.
- Enforce the policies and procedures of the Transitional Living Program.
- Conduct regular room checks to ensure the safety of clients.
- Transport residents in the agency van as needed for goal-oriented appointments.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience: 2 years of social work experience, preferred.
- Technology Skills: Basic computer skills, Office 365.
- Communication Skills: Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership/ Behaviors: Integrate trauma-informed care, positive youth development, and transition to independence skills into all client interactions while maintaining ethical boundaries and professionalism. Must be self-sufficient without requiring constant supervision

- Must have a valid driver’s license and car insurance.

Other Important Information:
Reports To: TLP Supervisor
Core Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:30a-6p.
Typical Work Week: Monday-Friday - in person
Travel: As needed for work-specific trainings and client needs.
