Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio, an Affiliate of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, empowers the young people who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens by providing high-quality and impactful out-of-school time programming for youth in grades K-12. BGCCO serves 4,000 youth per year throughout Central Ohio.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio is seeking a Vice President of Operations. This role is a hybrid position; the on-site work location will be located at 1000 Cleveland Ave. (Milo-Grogan Clubhouse).
Position Summary
The Vice President of Administration & Club Operations (VP of A&O) plays a critical leadership role in ensuring operational excellence across the organization. Reporting directly to the CFAO, this position provides strategic and hands- on support in driving efficient business and program operations throughout The Clubs. The VP of A&O will oversee area
directors, streamline processes, and implement systems that align operations with the organization’s mission, vision, and growth strategy.
This role is designed to ensure that business and club operations are executed effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational goals for growth and sustainability. The VP of A&O will partner closely with the CFAO to strengthen infrastructure, support operational capacity, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery and business practices.
Essential Job Function & Responsibilities:
Club Operational Leadership
- Partner with the CFAO to design, implement, and monitor club operational systems that support organizational effectiveness and sustainability.
- Oversee and support Area Directors in the execution of daily club business and operations, ensuring accountability, efficiency, and alignment with strategic goals.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance workflows, reduce redundancies, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Partner with program leadership to provide operational oversight to ensure that club business and program functions are integrated and working together in service of the mission.
Club Strategic & Business Operations
- Collaborate with the CFAO to identify, plan, and execute strategies that strengthen infrastructure and prepare the organization for growth.
- Collaborate with program quality staff to monitor key operational and financial metrics to ensure club organizational performance supports growth, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Support implementation of cloud-based and virtual systems for streamlined administrative processes.
- Ensure alignment between club business operations (finance, HR, risk, compliance) program quality and club operations to maximize impact and resource utilization.
Leadership & Management
- Supervise and mentor Area Directors, fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, and club operational excellence.
- Act as a key partner to senior leadership in ensuring club business operations are designed and executed in support of program success and long-term growth.
- Promote strong cross-departmental communication and collaboration, ensuring club operations are client- centered and mission-driven.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Nonprofit Management, Finance, or related field required; master’s
degree (MBA, MPA, or related) preferred.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations, with direct oversight of operations, administration, or business functions.
- Proven success in leading teams, managing directors/managers, and driving operational improvements.
- Understanding of nonprofit business models.
- Demonstrated ability to streamline processes and implement scalable systems for growth.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
