Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Supply Chain Operations to lead the design, optimization, and scaling of our end-to-end supply chain infrastructure. This senior leadership role will oversee commissary production, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution to support the continued growth of our multi-unit café business.


The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and hands-on operator who can improve our current commissary and distribution network while building the systems, processes, and organizational structure necessary for significant expansion. This leader will play a critical role in ensuring operational scalability while maintaining exceptional product quality, consistency, and efficiency across all locations.

Previous experience in food and beverage supply chain operations is strongly preferred, including experience in restaurant, café, commissary, manufacturing, distribution, or multi-unit foodservice environments.


Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Strategy & Scalability

  • Develop and execute a long-term supply chain strategy to support multi-unit growth and geographic expansion.
  • Evaluate current commissary, warehousing, and distribution capabilities and implement scalable operational solutions.
  • Build multi-year roadmaps for capacity planning, process improvement, automation, technology, and network optimization.
  • Lead make-versus-buy analyses and evaluate strategic outsourcing opportunities where appropriate.


Commissary Operations

  • Improve throughput, labor productivity, operational efficiency, and production yields.
  • Establish standardized forecasting and production planning processes.


Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Lead sourcing strategy, supplier negotiations, and vendor relationship management.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service standards.
  • Develop contingency planning and dual-sourcing strategies to mitigate supply chain risk.
  • Monitor commodity trends and proactively manage pricing and availability challenges.


Distribution & Logistics

  • Optimize transportation schedules, delivery routing, fleet utilization, and distribution workflows.
  • Improve order accuracy, product freshness, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Design scalable logistics systems capable of supporting future market expansion.
  • Establish KPI-driven logistics and distribution management practices.


Inventory & Systems

  • Implement best practices for inventory control, forecasting, replenishment, and waste reduction.
  • Reduce spoilage, stockouts, and operational inefficiencies.
  • Partner cross-functionally to maximize systems such as Restaurant365 and Square.
  • Develop reporting tools and dashboards to monitor supply chain performance and operational KPIs.


Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams across procurement, commissary operations, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Design organizational structures and succession plans to support continued growth.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 years of leadership experience in foodservice, restaurant, commissary, manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong understanding of multi-unit food and beverage operations.
  • Experience scaling operational infrastructure in a high-growth environment.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with ERP, inventory management, forecasting, and operational systems preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
