About the Role:

The Summer M.O.S.T. Teacher plays a pivotal role in delivering an engaging and comprehensive educational experience during the summer session, focusing on the M.O.S.T. (Math, Science, and Technology) curriculum. This position is designed to inspire and motivate students by fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on learning in a supportive environment. The teacher will develop and implement lesson plans that align with educational standards while adapting to the diverse learning needs of students. Collaboration with fellow educators and staff is essential to ensure a cohesive and enriching program that promotes academic growth and curiosity. Ultimately, the role aims to enhance students' understanding and enthusiasm for STEM subjects, preparing them for future academic success.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, Mathematics, Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching or tutoring students in math, science, or technology subjects.
  • Strong understanding of STEM educational principles and curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching certification or licensure in relevant subject areas.
  • Experience working in summer educational programs or camps.
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools and software.
  • Background in developing hands-on STEM activities and experiments.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and adapting instruction accordingly.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver lesson plans that effectively teach math, science, and technology concepts to students in a summer program setting.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Incorporate hands-on activities, experiments, and technology tools to enhance the learning experience.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and program coordinators to align curriculum goals and share best practices.
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, respectful learning atmosphere.
  • Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student progress and program updates as needed.
