Job description:
Schedule: Summer hours are 8 am-4:30 pm; non-summer hours are 3:00 pm-7:00 pm. Non-summer hours may also include teaching Swim Central classes when scheduled from 9:00 am- 1:00 pm at either location. Other duties may be assigned.
Location: N. Lauderdale Boys & Girls Clubs
Must be a current Certified Swim Instructor and Certified Lifeguard with current First Aid and CPR certificates;
Minimum requirements include:
- At least 2 years of experience as an instructor or lifeguard;
- Must demonstrate safety as the highest priority;
- Must have the ability to teach large volumes of children with ages ranging from 6 to 18;
- Must be able to command control of classes; must be able to organize swim class schedules.
- Must be a team player;
- Must be able to assist in training new swim teachers and lifeguards;
- Must be able to teach front stroke, back stroke, breast stroke, butterfly, and treading water;
- Must be able to communicate well with staff, students, and parents;
- Must be a good role model for other staff members and the students.
